Two-tier policing – alive and well in Britain today?

The gates are broken and the wolves have got in amongst the sheep. Last week we saw two dinghies carrying illegal migrants land respectively at Samphire Hoe, between Dover and Folkstone, and at Folkestone. They arrived ‘without escort’, meaning they had managed to evade Border Security and get in under the radar. Given they would have been welcomed with open arms, if they had followed the conventional route, it is somewhat puzzling to understand why. Be that as it may, however, the dinghy landing at Samphire Hoe is thought to have carried around 30 young men – fit young men who looked to be of fighting age, and around 10 of whom immediately disappeared and have still to be located. As reported in The Telegraph, former Director General of Border Force Tony Smith, called the undetected landings ‘a security risk’.

Surely not!

This weekend we have seen thwarted what might, or might not, have been a major terrorist attack on RAF Fairford, used by the USA to launch attacks on Iran. The neighbouring village was evacuated after a vigilant farmer phoned the police at around 1.30 a.m. on Sunday morning to report a large number of black-clad men in balaclavas, behaving suspiciously. Three white vans were found, apparently blocking the road near to the airfield, and bomb disposal were called in. Five men, now revealed to be British nationals of mixed ethnicity, were arrested on suspicion of preparing a terrorist act, and held overnight. On Monday, they were released on bail, with the police announcing that they hadn’t found any explosives, but were continuing their investigations.

There are two aspects to this that are rather disturbing. First, our vigilant farmer insists she saw far more than five men – she describes them as a group of hooded and masked men (up to 12, she says), who panicked when they were picked out by the headlights of her car and ran away into the adjoining woods. So what has happened to them, and why has there been no mention of them in police reports? Were the five arrested part of this larger group? Were they engaged on a separate, unrelated attack? Or were they drivers of the vans being used to transport the real perpetrators, meaning that the actual offenders remain at large and are still planning on doing something?

Second, however, and perhaps even more concerning, why have these men, suspected of plotting a violent terror attack which could, by the sound of it, have decimated the entire area, been released on bail? If they really are no threat, as their release would seem to suggest, why is there still a major police presence around Fairford, and a cordon in place to prevent access?

We are told in the press that we, the public, don’t know the full picture, the implication being that we should be reassured by the continuing investigations. But even if true, this is at odds with the treatment meted out to Danny Tommo, who, it will be remembered, was arrested on charges of criminal damage, after slashing a dinghy in the Channel that had been used to transport illegal migrants, and of his subsequent failure to disclose the PIN for his phone to the police. In view of the circumstances, his treatment seems almost perverse.

Let us be clear, Tommo is charged with slashing a dinghy, presumably owned by criminal gangs, that had been used to transport migrants illegally over the Channel, in an act that may well prove to have taken place outside British territorial waters. Precisely who then has Tommo harmed, and what laws has he broken? Surely, we should rather be giving him a medal for his efforts to protect the UK against hostile invasion by criminals? Yet the authorities, in their wisdom, have not just charged him, but have ordered his incarceration pending trial. In other words, they lock up a man who poses no threat to the general populace – who on the contrary was trying to protect them – but release on bail men being investigated for terrorism, who may well, given half a chance, commit violent acts against the public.

On what planet can this two-tier approach be deemed fair, or a proportionate response? Just who are the authorities trying to protect and why?

We are told that the number of migrants of fighting age who have entered the country is now larger than the British army. Since 2023, reports of anti-Semitic ‘incidents’ have increased by 82% , while figures for rape and sexual assault have risen in the last 24 years by a staggering 800% – a rise that recently prompted the Home Office to issue a 9 page leaflet to all asylum seekers, stating that in the UK all forms of sexual activity require consent by both parties, and that any sex under the age of 16 is prohibited. And alongside all of this, of course, we have the continuing problem of Asian grooming gangs operating across our towns and cities,

with large areas of those same cities becoming subject to Sharia law, and being unlawfully (though with the apparent acquiescence of the authorities) annexed as ‘Muslim only areas’.

Muslim mayor of London Sadiq Khan has robustly denied the presence of grooming gangs in our capital, or that there is any problem of areas becoming ghettoised, despite almost overwhelming evidence to the contrary. One can only wonder why? Just as one wonders why, despite the mounting evidence of orchestrated subversion and hostility on the part of certain ethnic and religious groups, the government, police and media all seem hell-bent on covering over what’s going on, and prioritising the interests and wellbeing of migrants over those of the indigenous population.

Let us make no mistake. This is, and always has been, a spiritual battle.

The ethnic roots of our indigenous population are, very broadly, a mix of Celtic, Anglo-Saxon, Norse, and Norman, while our faith and values are Christian – as they have been for at least the last 1,700 years. Throughout that time, our country has been a byword for justice, freedom, truth … and respect for all, as made in the image of God. Under that same God, we have ruled over one of the greatest empires in history, and we have been the envy of the world.

All this is now under attack. And it is our own folly and disobedience to God that has allowed such a situation to arise, because in recent years we have not just welcomed, but actively promoted, cultures and religions that are at base hostile to Christ and to our way of life, and that seek to take control.

And all unknowing, in the name of tolerance and inclusivity, we have colluded with those aims, putting in place positive discrimination policies that favour candidates from different cultures and non-Christian religions. With the perhaps inevitable result that ever-higher numbers of those holding power – in government, law and order, the media, NHS, education etc. – hold values at odds with those of the UK. This is not to be racist, but many ethnic appointees continue to hold to the values of their own culture – such as Home Secretary Shabana Mahmoud, who openly proclaims that Islam is the most important thing in her life.

Does this matter? Yes, it does. Islam proclaims that there is only one god, Allah, and that Mohammed is his prophet. Allah is not the same as the Judeo-Christian God. Islam denies that Christ is the one and only incarnate Son of God, who died to save us from sin, and is alone the Way, the Truth and the Life. In Islam, salvation, seen as success in the afterlife, is dependent on an individual’s submission to Allah, and on his or her actions and deeds in this life, the only exception being the reward granted to martyrs, who are given absolute forgiveness of their sins and rewarded with marriage to 72 perpetual virgins in Paradise. Islam demands that all, without exception, accept and worship Allah, and calls for death for those who refuse, e.g. ‘… kill the pagans wherever you find them, capture them, besiege them, and lie in wait for them on every way.’ Surah 9:5.

There are many nice and what we would call ‘moderate’ Muslims. We will all have Muslim neighbours and friends, who we value – but this is what Islam teaches, and such beliefs are incompatible with Christianity.

We are still, in name, a Christian country, and God is still our Sovereign Lord. As a nation, we cannot serve both God and Allah. By not just allowing, but facilitating, the spread of Islam in our land, we dishonour God and are apostate – and open ourselves to inequality and great cruelty. If we value our country, we must enforce justice, without compromise or partiality, and defend our faith. And we must repent. In the darkness and conflict that looms ahead, only God can save us. His will is to save us, but He won’t while we reject His lordship and persist in sin.
